Wind Creek Hospitality has officially opened its new Wind Creek Chicago Southland Casino on November 11, 2024, in the south suburbs of Chicago. The 70,000-square-foot casino facility features over 1,400 slot machines, 56 table games, a dedicated poker room, and a sportsbook, designed to offer a premium gaming experience.
The opening marks the first phase of what will become a full-scale resort, with a hotel, spa, and expanded amenities set for completion in spring 2025.
The launch of Wind Creek Chicago Southland is expected to create over 1,000 jobs in roles spanning hospitality, technology, and gaming services, delivering a major economic boost to the area.

Additionally, gaming revenue will support essential services in Homewood, East Hazel Crest, and 42 other south suburban communities. Jay Dorris, President and CEO of Wind Creek Hospitality, highlighted the casino’s community impact, noting, “We’re committed to creating opportunities that support the region and further strengthen the vibrant Southland community.”
During its two test days, the casino welcomed family, friends, and local dignitaries, and received final approval from the Illinois Gaming Board on November 8. The facility also includes high-limit slot areas and four unique “Hidden Gems” gaming spaces, where guests can enjoy customizable private gaming experiences.
The property’s culinary offerings will soon be elevated through a partnership with Fabio Viviani Hospitality Group, promising a range of dining options that include signature restaurants, quick-service eateries, and more. “We’re creating something truly unforgettable,” said chef and restaurateur Fabio Viviani.
Wind Creek Chicago Southland exemplifies Wind Creek Hospitality’s broader mission to stimulate local economies and offer top-tier entertainment destinations.
