Looking for an unusual stay this summer?
If you’re fed up with all-inclusive resorts and bog standard hotel bedrooms, this is the place for you.
Near Sweden’s east cost, on lake Mälaren in Västerås, you’ll find the Utter Inn – a red, wooden hut that looks just like a traditional Scandinavian cabin with its own sundeck.

Except for the fact that it is floating on the water.
To make the stay even more remarkable, you’ll be sleeping 10 feet below the surface, as reported by Luxury Travel Daily.
The hut was created by its 61-year-old owner, Mikael Genburg, who was curious on whether it was possible to build an underwater structure of this kind.
Mikael, who is an artist, built the hut himself and now has staff that work for him to give the visitors the best experience stay.
It has since become a big hit, regularly getting booked out by curious travellers who want a unique experience.
On the surface, there is a small seating area, where visitors can relax as they watch the waves go by.
At the entrance to the structure , guests will find the above-surface kitchen.
But you’ll need to bring your own food and drinks.
At bedtime, climb down to your quarters.
Through the hatch and down a ladder, you can find a room with an all-round view of life under the sea.
The room comes with two single beds, two lamps, a table and four windows – one on each wall.
There is phone signal underwater, should you need assistance from the staff or want to contact with family and friends – but there’s no WiFi.
Guests are taken to the Utter Inn via boat, driven by the staff, but are also supplied with an inflatable dinghy so that they can explore the uninhabited islands in the lake.
There are also plenty of amenities nearby if you can to row yourself yo shore.
The property is just 2km from Angso Castle and and 46km from Parken Zoo, an amusement park.
Ekolsund castle is 50km away.
The hut is available to book from £250 per night for two people.
