This July 4th, Tweetsie Railroad will mark America’s independence and the park’s 68th birthday with a day full of activities, culminating in the largest fireworks display in the region. The park will extend its hours from 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday, July 4th, with the fireworks show starting at 9:30 pm.
Opening its doors on July 4, 1957, Tweetsie Railroad initially offered a one-mile trip to a picnic area. Over the years, it expanded to a three-mile loop and added an authentic western town, rides, live shows, and the Deer Park Zoo, becoming North Carolina’s first theme park.

The fireworks show, set to begin at 9:30 pm, is designed to be a family-friendly event, with complimentary parking available. More information about the park and its history can be found at tweetsie.com.
