Leading in Eco-Friendly Aviation
Amid significant challenges posed by the climate crisis, Turkish Airlines stands out with its innovative sustainability initiatives. These include the voluntary carbon offset platform CO2mission, the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), sustainable in-flight products, waste management practices, and offering passengers a sustainable travel experience.

Commitment to Carbon Neutrality
“Receiving the Most Sustainable Flag Carrier Airline award for the third year running is a testament to our dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship,” said Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines. The airline aims to become one of the world’s top three airlines in terms of digitalization and has committed to becoming a Carbon-Neutral Airline by 2050. This includes incorporating SAF into its climate change mitigation plans, expanding SAF usage to new routes, and pursuing sustainable practices across all operations.
Operational Optimization and Achievements
Since 2008, Turkish Airlines has undertaken over 100 operational optimization projects to reduce its carbon footprint. In 2023, these efforts led to significant fuel savings and a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
