Tourism Malaysia has introduced an exciting array of tourism packages that highlight the country’s famous fruit, the durian, often referred to as the “King of Fruits.” The newly published “Durian Tourism Packages 2024/2025” includes 62 unique packages from 27 local tour operators across 12 Malaysian states, blending the rich flavors of fragrant durians with thrilling activities.

A recent American Express Survey found that 81% of travelers prioritize food experiences when traveling abroad. Furthermore, Technavio forecasts significant growth in the global durian fruit market, which is expected to reach USD 10.57 billion from 2024 to 2028, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) exceeding 8.09%.

Malaysia Pioneers Trending Durian Tourism with Exciting New Travel Experiences

Tailored for a variety of travelers with diverse activities and price points, the new packages for 2024 and 2025 include:

  • Jom Pi Dusun: A relaxing day trip featuring local durian tasting, fresh honey, and a traditional Malaysian lunch by the river.
