Marriott Bonvoy’s The Luxury Collection has unveiled The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid, following a two-year restoration. Formerly The Westin Palace, the hotel now blends historic elegance with modern luxury in the heart of Madrid’s cultural district.
Located in the Barrio de las Letras, near the Prado Museum and Retiro Park, the restored landmark showcases its original 1912 façade, a dazzling stained-glass dome, and interiors reimagined by Lázaro Rosa-Violán Studio.

The redesign pays homage to past guests like Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and Ernest Hemingway, with bespoke artwork and rich architectural details.
The hotel’s 470 guestrooms and suites capture Madrid’s artistic essence, featuring hand-painted wallpapers inspired by El Retiro Park and luxurious touches like marble fireplaces and mid-century chandeliers. Designer Juanjo Oliva created refined new staff uniforms, complementing the hotel’s updated identity.
Dining highlights include La Cúpula, an all-day restaurant and cocktail bar set beneath the glass dome, serving locally inspired dishes. 27 Club, a reimagined historic bar, celebrates Madrid’s literary past with a curated cocktail menu reflecting Pre-Prohibition classics.
Guests can immerse themselves in Madrid’s cultural scene through exclusive experiences, such as private early-morning tours of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and guided explorations of the Las Letras neighborhood.
“The Palace has been a cultural icon for over a century, and its transformation allows us to celebrate its eclectic history,” said Helen Leighton, Vice President of Luxury Brands, Marriott International.
Now part of The Luxury Collection, The Palace continues its legacy as a timeless Madrid landmark, offering an unforgettable gateway to the city’s vibrant history and artistic soul.
