Romer House Waikīkī, Oʻahu’s only adults-only hotel, welcomes Honolulu’s beloved cocktail bar The Lei Stand, opening May 1 to coincide with Hawai‘i’s annual Lei Day celebration.
The move marks a fresh chapter for the iconic bar, which was founded in 2022 by Ryan Kalei Tsuji and Tara Kanani Shimooka and first opened in Chinatown.
Its new home at Romer House blends nostalgic charm with a modern tropical vibe, elevating both local and visitor experiences.

Romer House, launched in mid-2024, quickly gained recognition for its mid-century flair and island spirit.
The addition of The Lei Stand completes its trio of gathering spaces: 855-ALOHA, a vintage-inspired restaurant, The Backyard, a lush hideaway with poolside drinks and bites, and now, a reimagined cocktail lounge that honors Chinatown’s lei shops with floral installations, neon glow, and a lively, intimate atmosphere.

Signature drinks such as Soup Soup and Clifton’s Curse return, alongside local pupus like edamame hummus and taro chips. Guests can also buy hand-tied leis directly from the bar. Nightly entertainment will bring back Lei Stand’s signature vibe—live sets, lei-making, and singalongs—infused with the spirit of aloha.
Open to the public with walk-ins welcome, hotel guests enjoy priority access. New menu concepts at 855-ALOHA and The Backyard launch in June, continuing Romer’s mission to offer locally rooted hospitality with modern flair.
