Thailand is preparing to make a significant impression at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan, with a focus on its status as a global leader in medical and wellness services.
Under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” the Thai Pavilion will highlight the country’s integration of traditional practices and cutting-edge healthcare to promote happiness and well-being.

A Leader in Healthcare and Wellness
Thailand’s Minister of Public Health, Somsak Thepsutin, emphasized the importance of the Expo as a platform to share the nation’s strengths in healthcare. “Thailand’s policies are focused on transforming the country into an international medical hub, and our participation in Expo 2025 in Osaka will highlight our strengths in these areas,” he said.
The pavilion will showcase five core areas:
- Traditional Thai Healthcare: A centuries-old practice emphasizing balance with nature.
- Thai Herbs and Culinary Health: Highlighting the health benefits of traditional dishes like Tom Yum Goong.
- Thai Herbal Medicine: Featuring products such as aroma inhalers and therapeutic oils.
- Thai Massage: A UNESCO-recognized cultural heritage, celebrated for its therapeutic properties.
- Modern Medical Excellence: Showcasing Thailand’s advanced healthcare system, supported by 62 Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited organizations, placing the country fourth globally and first in Southeast Asia.
A Hub for Medical Tourism
Thailand’s healthcare excellence and renowned hospitality have propelled it into the top five global medical tourism destinations. Valued at one trillion baht, the industry is projected to grow to 2.2 trillion baht (USD 64.02 billion) by 2034, underscoring its economic significance.
The Thai Experience at Expo 2025
Visitors to the Thai Pavilion will experience the country’s unique blend of healthcare innovation and cultural heritage, showcasing why Thailand is a preferred destination for medical and wellness tourism.
Expo 2025, running from April 13 to October 13 in Osaka, is expected to draw 28 million visitors, providing Thailand a global platform to reinforce its medical and wellness expertise.
