Southwest Airlines celebrated a major milestone with its 100th inflight concert as part of its Live at 35® series, surprising passengers on Flight #1989 from Nashville to Miami with a live performance by GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter Liz Rose.
Rose, known for co-writing hit songs with Taylor Swift, performed onboard on October 17, ahead of Swift’s Miami concert.
During the mid-flight show, passengers sang along to Rose’s renditions of “All Too Well” and “You Belong with Me,” two tracks she co-wrote with Swift.

The event, which included custom friendship bracelets and commemorative inflight concert cards, marked a special moment in Southwest’s long-running program that brings live music to the skies.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate 100 performances than with a plane full of music lovers,” said Sarah Falvey, Southwest Airlines’ Vice President of Communications and Brand Reputation. “Live at 35 is a unique way to surprise our customers while supporting musicians, and we loved celebrating with Liz Rose.”
Accompanied by songwriter Phil Barton on guitar, Rose’s performance was made possible through Southwest’s collaboration with The Bluebird Cafe, a famed Nashville venue that has been a partner since 2015. Southwest’s Live at 35 program, launched in 2011, has featured a wide range of performers, including emerging artists through its On The Rise program.
Liz Rose, a member of multiple songwriting halls of fame, has co-written numerous hits for artists like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert, with her songs selling over 20 million copies.
Southwest Airlines continues to provide creative in-flight experiences, showcasing its commitment to hospitality and its customers as the airline looks toward a sustainable future with a goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
