Silversea announces The Cormorant at 55 South, the world’s southernmost hotel, offering luxury stays and seamless access to Antarctica from Puerto Williams, Chile.

Silversea has announced The Cormorant at 55 South, a new 150-room luxury hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile, designed to offer seamless and immersive access to Antarctica.

Opening for the 2025/2026 Antarctica season, it will be the southernmost hotel on Earth and a key part of Silversea’s continued leadership in luxury expedition travel.

“The Cormorant is a tribute to Puerto Williams’ natural beauty and cultural heritage, providing unmatched comfort before guests set off on their Antarctic adventures,” said Silversea President Bert Hernandez.

Each room will feature sweeping views of Patagonia’s landscapes, with handcrafted items by local artisans, and interiors reflecting the earthy tones of the region.

The hotel will enhance Silversea’s six-day Antarctica Fly Cruise program, allowing guests to fly over the Drake Passage for faster access to the continent.
