Since their arrival in late June, Yun Chuan and Xin Bao have been acclimating to their new home in the newly reimagined Panda Ridge. This innovative habitat is four times larger than the Zoo’s previous panda enclosure, inspired by China’s geological formations and featuring new climbing trees, diverse plants, and rolling hillsides for exploration.

Yun Chuan, an almost five-year-old male, is identifiable by his long, pointy nose. His mother, Zhen Zhen, was the fourth cub born at the San Diego Zoo in 2007. Xin Bao, a nearly four-year-old female, is recognized by her large, round face and fluffy ears.

The Zoo offers three ways for guests to experience the pandas. Visitors can obtain a complimentary Giant Panda Timed Ticket, join the standby line, or reserve a 60-minute Early Morning with Pandas Walking Tour. For more details, visit sandiegozoo.org/giant-pandas.
