Grammy Award-winning Riders In The Sky, known as “America’s Favorite Cowboys,” are set to bring their Western music and comedy to Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock, NC, on August 10 and 11. This much-anticipated event promises energy, laughter, and infectious spirit, enhancing the park’s rich entertainment offerings.
Western Music and Comedy Extravaganza
Riders In The Sky, featuring Ranger Doug, Too Slim, Woody Paul, and Joey “the Cow Polka King,” will perform at noon and 3 pm on both days. Their shows, included with general park admission, offer first-come, first-served seating without the need for reservations. “This is one music performance you don’t want to miss,” said Cathy Robbins of Tweetsie Railroad. “Riders In The Sky are very talented musicians. They bring lots of energy, laughs, and their spirit is infectious.”

A Storied Legacy
Riders In The Sky are the first and only exclusively Western group to win a Grammy and join the Grand Ole Opry. Their rich history includes performing in all 50 states and 10 countries, from Carnegie Hall to Tweetsie Railroad. In 2002, they released the CD “Ridin’ the Tweetsie Railroad,” featuring classic and original railroad songs honoring the theme park.

Since 1957, Tweetsie Railroad has been North Carolina’s premier Wild West theme park, offering visitors a three-mile journey on a historic steam locomotive, live shows, amusement rides, a zoo, and more. The park operates from 10 am to 6 pm, Thursday to Monday until August 11, and weekends from August 12 to October 27.
