The immersive audiovisual exhibition Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience celebrates its first anniversary in the historic building on Wenceslas Square. Over the past year, hundreds of thousands of visitors have flocked to the exhibition, making it one of the top five most visited tourist attractions in Prague.
A Unique Central European Attraction
As the only brand home of Plzeňský Prazdroj globally, the Pilsner Urquell Experience offers a unique glimpse into the creation of the world’s first golden lager. “The exhibition maps the historical events that led to the creation of Pilsner beer as we know it today.
Using state-of-the-art technology, it allows visitors to witness this fascinating story live and experience it for themselves,” said Karen Hartley, CEO of The Original Experience Company. Additionally, the Tapster Academy allows guests to learn and practice the art of proper beer tapping.

Drawing International Crowds
The exhibition’s innovative approach and interactive displays, available in ten languages, have attracted tourists from Germany, the United States, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, and Italy. Visitors can now enjoy a combined ticket for The Original Tour and a one-hour Vltava River cruise with Prague Boats. “As part of the exhibition, visitors will learn about history and Czech culture with all their senses, which they can then take in on a sightseeing cruise on the Vltava River,” added Romana Jedličková.
Culinary Delights and Beer Education
In the traditional Beer Hall, guests can savor perfectly poured draught beer managed by specially trained tapsters. A standout feature is the Beer Sommelier Dinner, a tasting menu where each of the five courses is paired with different beers from the Czech Republic and other European countries. Guests are guided through the tasting by experienced tapsters, offering deeper insights into the origins of specific beers.
