The fifth China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) opened in Haikou, Hainan on April 13, attracting over 1,700 companies from more than 70 countries and regions.
With over 4,100 brands showcased, the national-level event underscores China’s consumer market potential and global appeal.
Notable firsts this year included participation from Slovakia, Singapore, and Brazil, as well as the launch of exhibition zones dedicated to AI and low-carbon technologies.

A new supply-demand matching model, combining online and in-person negotiations, helped secure ¥150 billion ($20.56 billion) in deals by mid-event.
Agreements spanned sectors such as smart mobility, autonomous driving, and public security, with companies like Unitree Robotics receiving substantial orders. Fosun Tourism also announced a major cultural project, ULTRAMED, set to open in Sanya.
Hainan’s streamlined visa policies and market access reforms further boosted international participation.
As the province expands its free trade port initiatives, experts like William Huang of EY China South predict growing interest from global investors.
