Nanning, a city of rich ethnic heritage and contemporary vitality in southern China, recently played host to a diverse group of Gen Z explorers from across the globe, including Russia, the United States, Vietnam, South Korea, and Zambia. From July 10 to 15, these young adventurers delved into Nanning’s cultural and natural splendors, discovering its unique charm through iconic sites and vibrant experiences.
Their journey highlighted Nanning’s multifaceted appeal, from the lush Qingxiu Mountain and the historic Pingxi Road to the bustling Tingzi Wharf and Guangxi Museum of Nationalities. As a cultural bridge between China and ASEAN, the city showcased its ethnic traditions, including Zhuang embroidery and Miao silver adornments, as well as its vibrant ASEAN culture.

The harmonious coexistence of urban life and nature left a lasting impression. “The city and nature in Nanning truly coexist in harmony,” remarked Hana, a visitor from Vietnam. Culinary delights such as the local specialty Suanye further showcased Nanning’s rich traditions. “The cuisine of Nanning is really not to be missed!” said Jinmyung Kim, a South Korean student.
As night falls, Nanning reveals its romantic side, with concerts, boat rides, and a lively food scene weaving a warm, inviting atmosphere.
