A mum and daughter have gone on a whirlwind trip to Ibiza together.
Hairdresser Helen Walker, 45, got the idea from one of her clients at work.
She decided to book flights for a one-day journey to celebrate her daughter, Alicia’s, upcoming 22nd birthday.
The duo, from Kippax, Leeds, bagged themselves return flights for just £81 each – a total of £162.
They jetted off to Manchester Airport in the early hours of the morning on 21 October, arriving around 5am for their 7.20am flight.
Once on the Spanish party island, they headed straight to the marina to spend the first half of their day by the water.
They went for a walk, admiring the luxury yachts and designer shops, before enjoying breakfast at a local spot.
The pair then went for a walk to the Old Town for some shopping, before finishing off the day with some sunbathing and a cocktail from the beachfront bar.
In total, they spent around eight hours enjoying all Ibiza has to offer before heading back to the airport for their return flight at 9.20pm.
“We would sum up the day as long but absolutely worth it,” Helen told Luxury Travel Daily.
“A client of mine suggested doing an extreme day trip as I was up for something random.
“It was such a good way to get a glimpse of another country.
“The weather was beautiful too, which I didn’t expect for the end of October.
“Ibiza airport was a total breeze to get through, we were through security and in duty-free within 10 minutes.
“We had the obligatory airport Burger King and waited for our flight.
“There was a slight delay of an hour coming home.
“Our flight was at 10.40pm instead of 9.20pm. We arrived home at 2am.”
Helen is hoping to do another day trip with Alicia toward the end of November or in early December.
She added: “We loved our trip so much and would absolutely recommend doing it to others.
“We are even planning on visiting a Christmas market in November or December in either Copenhagen or Prague.”
