LEGOLAND New York Resort celebrated the grand opening of its latest attraction, Minifigure Skyflyer, by breaking the World Disco Dance Party record with 704 guests in disco-themed attire. The immersive ride, which offers a party in the sky experience, was inaugurated with a Park-wide disco dance party that surpassed the previous record of 598 participants.
Guests arrived in sequined apparel, sparkly tutus, and disco ball accessories to join the celebration. DJ Dimension kicked off the event with a tutorial of the ride’s signature dance, leading to a countdown that ended with confetti cannons and the Minifigure Skyflyer disco tune blasting across the Park. Beloved LEGOLAND characters, including Lady Robot, Professor Brick, LEGOLAND Boy, and LEGOLAND Girl, joined the festivities.
“Minifigure Skyflyer is a groundbreaking attraction for LEGOLAND Resorts, and the enthusiastic crowd at today’s grand opening shows that LEGOLAND New York is the ideal location for it,” said Stephanie Johnson, President of LEGOLAND New York. “Whether you love disco, a pirate party, or dancing with party animals, our guests will enjoy the various themes of this new attraction, spot over 100 minifigures, and keep the party going all season long.”
Minifigure Skyflyer features Party Pods that are ADA accessible, stroller-friendly, and can seat up to ten people, making the ride free with Park admission.
This summer, LEGOLAND New York also introduces GO Xtreme!, a show featuring stunts by world-class BMX riders, skateboarders, and pogo athletes. The annual Red White & BOOM! event will celebrate Independence Day, and guests can cool off at the Water Playground with slides, water cannons, and a giant bucket that pours 318 gallons of water.
A special offer is available for $29 kids’ tickets with the purchase of an adult ticket. Guests can extend their visit with a stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel, where they can save 10% on rooms.
