The 2024 Hengshui Lake Marathon began today at 7:30 AM, attracting 20,000 participants from 26 countries, including China, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Germany.
The scenic race, held around the picturesque Hengshui Lake, saw fierce competition across both men’s and women’s categories.
China’s Peiyou Feng won the men’s marathon with a time of 2:10:13, edging out Zhongrui Guo, who finished in 2:10:25, and Tianyu Chen, who came in third with 2:10:26.

On the women’s side, Cuomu Ciren claimed victory with a time of 2:26:47, followed by Xia Zhou in 2:29:59 and Dan Li in 2:32:10.
International runners also left their mark on the marathon. Kenya’s Benard Kipkorir took the men’s title with a swift 2:09:57, while Atalel Anmut Dargie of Ethiopia won the women’s race in 2:23:39.
Other standout performances included Volha Mazuronak from Belarus, who placed second in the women’s race with a time of 2:25:09, and Eritrea’s Berhane Tsegay Tekle, who finished third in the men’s event at 2:10:10.
As the 2024 marathon concludes, runners and fans are already looking ahead to next year’s race, anticipating even more excitement at the 2025 Hengshui Lake Marathon.
