The beloved Ghost Train® is making its much-anticipated return to Tweetsie Railroad this fall, transforming the park into a haunted wonderland every Friday and Saturday evening from September 20 to October 26. During the day, visitors can enjoy the park’s classic Wild West theme, but as night falls, the atmosphere shifts to eerie thrills and family-friendly scares.
“It’s safe, scary fun for the whole family,” said Cathy Robbins of Tweetsie Railroad. “Young children enjoy dressing up and trick-or-treating, everyone loves the night-time amusement rides and the street dance party, while the older, braver souls can tour the Haunted House, explore the Freaky Forest, and ride on the Ghost Train.”

The Ghost Train experience offers something for all ages, with attractions ranging from gentle frights to spine-chilling adventures. The centerpiece, the Ghost Train itself, is a 20-minute nighttime journey behind a skull-faced steam locomotive, promising surprises around every corner.
Those seeking more intense scares can explore the Haunted House or venture through the Freaky Forest, both designed to push the limits of fear and excitement.
For younger guests and those preferring lighter thrills, the Creepy Carnival offers classic amusement rides adorned with vibrant lights, while the Boneyard features the disorienting Black Hole and Warp Tunnel.
The Street Dance Party and Tweetsie Palace Spooktacular add lively and magical elements to the evening, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Children can also enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the park and pose for Halloween-themed photos with costumed characters.
Recognized as one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by The Southeast Tourism Society, the Ghost Train at Tweetsie Railroad is a cherished tradition. Tickets are sold in advance for a specific night and scheduled train ride time to ensure all guests have an enjoyable experience.
With limited availability, visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets early. Prices are set at $60 for adults and $40 for children aged 3 to 12, with children 2 and under admitted free.
