Among the notable trends are Detour Destinations, which spotlight lesser-known locations near popular hotspots, JOMO (Joy of Missing Out) Travel, emphasizing relaxation over packed itineraries, and One-Click Trips, simplifying the booking process through social media.

CEO Ariane Gorin emphasized Expedia’s commitment to making travel easier and more enjoyable with these innovations. Noteworthy destinations include Reims, France (detour from Paris), and Krabi, Thailand (detour from Phuket).
Additionally, Gen Z travelers are embracing All-Inclusive Resorts, while Set-Jetting — travel inspired by popular TV shows — continues to rise.
The report also reveals a growing interest in Goods Getaways, where travelers seek unique local products, and The Phenomena-List, showcasing travel to natural wonders like the Northern Lights and bioluminescent beaches.
