The Walt Disney Company has announced a landmark partnership with Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading destination developer, to build the first Disney theme park in the UAE.
Set on the iconic Yas Island, the waterfront resort will be Disney’s seventh global theme park and its first in the Middle East.
The project will fuse Disney’s beloved characters and storytelling with Abu Dhabi’s rich heritage, modern architecture, and scenic coastline.

Entirely developed by Miral, with Disney Imagineers directing creative design and operations, the resort will feature themed accommodations, dining, and immersive attractions.
“This park will be authentically Disney and distinctly Emirati,” said Disney CEO Robert A. Iger. “It will rise spectacularly from this land, blending contemporary architecture with cutting-edge technology.”
Positioned within a four-hour flight of one-third of the global population and adjacent to major air travel hubs, the park aims to attract visitors from across the region and beyond. Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro called the project “the most modern and interactive” in the company’s portfolio.
Miral Chairman Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak highlighted the park as a testament to Abu Dhabi’s vision of merging tradition with innovation. “We are creating a whole new world of imagination that will inspire generations.”
The development further elevates Yas Island’s status as a global entertainment destination and is expected to contribute to long-term economic growth in the region. Further details will be revealed as the project progresses.
