August 2, 2024 — Disney Cruise Line has announced the launch of its latest ship, the Disney Destiny, set to sail from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in late 2025. This new vessel will feature a unique heroes and villains theme, offering guests a dynamic blend of light and dark inspired by Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters.
Innovative Themed Experiences The Disney Destiny promises a range of immersive experiences. One highlight is “Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King,” a dining venue celebrating the music of “The Lion King.” The savanna-inspired restaurant will feature live performances of beloved songs such as “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata” amid stunning visual effects that mimic the African landscape.
Another notable addition is “Edna Á La Mode Sweets,” a confectionary themed around “The Incredibles.” Guests can indulge in handmade gelato, ice cream, and other treats in a setting inspired by Edna Mode’s lab, complete with playful nods to the film’s characters and scenes.

Heroic Hospitality The ship’s staterooms will be designed to reflect the epic journeys of Disney legends. With custom artwork and luxurious accommodations, the Disney Destiny will offer both comfort and inspiration. Most rooms will feature Disney Cruise Line’s signature split-bath concept, with options for connecting doors to accommodate larger groups.
Concierge guests will enjoy premium services, exclusive amenities, and themed suites. The “Hero Suites” will draw from “Hercules” with Greco-Roman design elements, while the “IncrediSuites” will evoke the mid-century modern aesthetic of “The Incredibles.” Seven special oceanview rooms will provide breathtaking views and décor inspired by “The Incredibles.”
Expanding the Fleet The Disney Destiny, at approximately 144,000 gross tons and powered by liquefied natural gas, is part of Disney Cruise Line’s multi-year fleet expansion. This includes the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Adventure, and future ventures such as Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas, and plans to bring Disney cruise vacations to Japan by 2029.
