Luxury British cruise line Cunard is calling on the public to help preserve cherished memories as part of its 185th-anniversary celebrations.

The cruise line’s new research reveals that 256 billion photos are taken annually across the UK and US, yet only 3% are stored in printed albums, raising concerns about a generational memory gap.

To address this, Cunard is inviting guests, employees, and celebrities to contribute their unforgettable moments aboard its ships to the ‘Sea of Glamour’ exhibition, curated by renowned photographer Mary McCartney.

Set to debut at Liverpool’s Liver Building in May, the exhibition will feature iconic archival photos of Hollywood stars, musicians, and royalty alongside public submissions, forming a unique timeline of ocean travel history.

“As our ships have been at the heart of unforgettable moments for 185 years, we want to celebrate those memories and ensure they’re preserved for future generations,” said Katie McAlister, President of Cunard.

McCartney will also capture a special portrait of Queen Anne’s Icons in Liverpool on opening day. The exhibition will later embark on a global tour aboard Cunard’s fleet.

Submissions are open until March 9, 2025. To contribute or learn more, visit cunard.com/seaofglamour.
