Currently operating from JFK’s Terminal 4, Avianca will continue normal service there until the transition. The move aligns with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion overhaul of JFK, which includes new terminals, expanded facilities, and streamlined transportation infrastructure.
Terminal 6, being developed by JFK Millennium Partners, promises a premium travel experience with smart features such as biometric bag drops, fast security processing, and 100,000 square feet of dining, shopping, and lounges.
Avianca passengers will also benefit from the terminal’s sustainable design and NYC-inspired ambiance.
With over 105 years of operation, Avianca offers up to 10 daily flights from JFK to destinations across Central and South America. The move to T6 will enhance connectivity through its hubs in Bogotá and El Salvador, offering seamless access to nearly every country in the region.
Terminal 6 is set to open its first gates in 2026 and be fully operational by 2028.
