1 Hotels has opened reservations for its first Australian property, 1 Hotel Melbourne, set to debut in June 2025. The luxury lifestyle brand, founded by Barry Sternlicht, brings its signature blend of sustainability and nature-inspired design to Melbourne’s waterfront in partnership with developer Riverlee.
Located on the edge of the CBD, the hotel is built around the heritage-listed Goods Shed No. 5 and features 277 rooms, including 36 suites, designed as serene, eco-conscious retreats.
The building incorporates reclaimed materials, over 2,000 living plants, and is targeting LEED Silver certification.
Dining and wellness are central to the guest experience, with a chef-led signature restaurant, foraged cocktails, a holistic Bamford Wellness Spa, and a state-of-the-art gym.
Event spaces, including the riverside Seafarers Event Space, offer nature-infused settings for up to 900 guests.
Guests will enjoy easy access to city landmarks, a native park, and the riverfront, while sustainable operations aim to eliminate single-use plastics and divert over 90% of waste.
