United Airlines is spreading holiday cheer with the return of its “Fantasy Flights,” a series of special experiences transporting deserving children and their families to a festive North Pole wonderland.
The seasonal hub, unveiled as “JOY,” will operate from 13 airports worldwide, including major locations like Chicago-O’Hare, Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo.
Each Fantasy Flight whisks families aboard a United aircraft to a holiday destination, where volunteers and employees transform airport gates or hangars into dazzling displays of twinkling lights, Christmas trees, and Santa’s workshop, complete with elves and festive activities.

“The team made a list, checked it twice, and decided to bring the North Pole closer than ever,” said Kate Gebo, United’s EVP of Human Resources and Labor Relations. “We’re honored to create these joy-filled memories for families.”
United has partnered with Make-A-Wish for select flights, helping wish kids travel to their dream destinations. Through December 31, United is matching up to 5 million donated miles and $500,000 in monetary contributions, doubling the impact of their Giving Tuesday campaign. Illy Coffee is also joining the effort, donating $1 from each cold brew sold on United flights to Make-A-Wish, up to $25,000.
Fantasy Flights exemplify United’s Good Leads The Way® initiative, showcasing the airline’s dedication to supporting its communities. For more details or to donate, visit www.united.com.
