Founded in 1937, Mt. Waterman is known for its 40+ inches of extra snow annually compared to nearby resorts, as well as its diverse terrain, including beginner-friendly areas and extensive backcountry options. With AMP’s acquisition, the resort enters a new phase, blending modern upgrades with its longstanding charm.
AMP plans to enhance the resort by introducing a snowmaking system, a tubing hill, and a glamping village. Exclusive membership opportunities through the Waterman100 program will offer private powder days, event access, and more.
AMP co-founder Joshua Shelton emphasized the resort’s unique proximity to L.A., describing it as a hidden gem for a new generation of outdoor adventurers.
The phased renovation will also include modernized facilities, such as a special events venue, upgraded lodges, and year-round attractions like a mountain bike park. AMP’s seasoned team, with over 35 years of resort development experience, aims to preserve Mt. Waterman’s rustic charm while creating a premier outdoor destination.
Mt. Waterman remains an iconic retreat in the Angeles National Forest, offering a genuine back-to-nature experience, now with exciting new possibilities under AMP’s stewardship.
