Suzhou, a historic city in China’s Jiangsu province, is becoming a major international tourism hub, thanks to its 144-hour visa-free transit policy and group travel visa-free option.
In the first seven months of this year, the city welcomed 495,000 overnight tourists, nearly doubling from the previous year.
Promoted by the slogan “Go to China, and travel in Suzhou,” the city’s appeal was further highlighted with massive posters of Suzhou’s scenic gardens in London and Auckland.

Popular foreign vloggers like Zina from the Czech Republic and Jason from the U.K. have shared their 24-hour Suzhou experiences with millions of followers, showcasing local traditions, food, and art.
To cater to growing international interest, Suzhou has introduced new policies to create a more welcoming environment for foreign tourists.
