Chris, 54, and Marianne, 56, from Telford, Shropshire, decided to rent out their home and embark on a life-changing adventure following a series of personal challenges.

Marianne, who worked in NHS theatre admin, had recently donated a kidney to save her best friend’s life and was in hospital recovering when Chris found the 2005 Fiat Ducato Adria Twin Conversion campervan.

They chose Trudy on the advice of Marianne’s 93-year-old father who owned the same model and knew it was one of the few campervans with a bed long enough to comfortably fit Chris’ 6’3″ frame.

The pair say they are wiser and more enlightened after their Odyssey which even involved spending 95 days in a Turkish car park during the Covid pandemic.
