EOS-X SPACE, the first European space exploration company based in Spain, is gearing up for a significant milestone in the latter half of 2024. Founded by Kemel Kharbachi, who also serves as CEO, the company is finalizing the development and validation of its Spaceship capsules.
These tests, conducted with military pilots and in collaboration with the National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA), are crucial steps toward the company’s goal of starting commercial flights in 2025.
Headquartered in Seville, EOS-X SPACE plans to operate flights from both its home city and Abu Dhabi by the third quarter of 2025. The total investment in engineering and development across these locations is expected to exceed $230 million. To support this growth, the company is currently undergoing a €115 million Series D investment round, led by the US investment bank FTI Capital Advisor.

Innovative and Sustainable Space Tourism
Launched in 2020, EOS-X SPACE distinguishes itself from other space tourism ventures through its use of pressurized capsules, designed to be both sustainable and safe. Each capsule, which can accommodate eight people including the pilot, is lifted by a non-polluting helium balloon.
The capsules reach the edge of the stratosphere at an altitude of 40,000 meters, offering passengers breathtaking views for a duration of five hours. The price for this unique experience will range from €150,000 to €200,000 per passenger.
In Seville, EOS-X SPACE is also developing the SpaceHub Complex in La Isla de la Cartuja, which will offer immersive experiences. Additionally, an ultra-luxury hotel in Seville province will provide guests with pioneering treatments and experiences, enhancing the overall space tourism journey.
Promising Financial Outlook
EOS-X SPACE is poised for substantial growth, capitalizing on the burgeoning $9 billion space tourism market. The company projects a revenue increase of 220% over the next five years, reflecting the strong scalability potential of its innovative approach to tourism.
By advancing its development and securing significant investments, EOS-X SPACE aims to set a historic precedent for Spain in the space exploration industry.
