The 2025 Ningbo Spring Festival Gala captivated audiences on January 23, blending tradition, innovation, and international collaboration in a dazzling cultural showcase at Studio One of the Ningbo Radio and Television Group.
Featuring original performances that celebrated Ningbo’s heritage and development, the gala highlighted iconic cultural elements such as Tianyi Pavilion, Hemudu Culture, Yue Celadon, and Hongbang tailoring.

Standout acts included the symphonic recitation “Seeing You Through Words,” the fashion show “Oriental Splendor,” and the male group dance “Moonlight Shines Over the Siming Mountain,” inspired by historical figures Wang Anshi, Wang Yangming, and Huang Zongxi.
Cutting-edge stage technology enhanced performances like the female group dance “Like a Lotus,” where digital displays and wirework brought vivid lotus blossoms to life. The innovative piece “AI on the Spring Festival Gala” featured robots performing choreographed dances and interacting with the audience.

Reflecting Ningbo’s global character, international residents and students participated in the festivities. Highlights included opera performances by Sime Nkemeni Darrin from Cameroon, Haines Phoebe Georgina from the UK, and Nweke Chioma Precious from Nigeria.
Musicians from Austria also contributed, blending Western strings with Chinese poetry in a composition inspired by the ancient poem “Zi Jin.”
A special segment honored workers on the Hangzhou Bay Railway Bridge, a groundbreaking project set to be the world’s longest cross-sea railway bridge.
Now in its third year, the Ningbo Spring Festival Gala continues to showcase the city’s rich cultural heritage, inspire community pride, and unite audiences in celebration.
